Distribution Transformers

A Transformer is a static Electrical device which essentially transforms voltage or current, the total power remaining unchanged, except for a small loss in the process.

RAW MATERIAL & COMPONENTS A good transformer in essence is one with low losses, with least percentage regulation and low-maintenance of electrical machine.

A good heat transfer design gives a maintenance-free, long-life transformer.

Use of Low-Viscosity high insulation oil of special grade gives longevity to the transformer.

Use of space-saving, high-efficient cooling fins is the most important tip for long life.

The core - the heart of the transformer - if selected and finished well, the losses are minimized.  It is wise to spend initially more and have a good core to minimize the recurring losses.

RAW MATERIAL & COMPONENTS

COREWINDINGSWINDINGS

Superior quality low-loss CRGO stampings are selected and cutting is done on high precision guillotines for no edge-burrs.  Good design added to this will give a very low core losses which is a big saving to the consumer.

WINDINGS

High Conductivity Electrolytic grade Copper Wires, insulated by paper are used in the Winding of the Transformers.

GRIT BLASTING GRIT BLASTING

After fabrication, the surfaces of tanks are grit blasted at our Factory premises before painting.  Grit blasting improves the life of M.S. parts as it removes the rust completely and also gives better finish.

RADIATORS

Special high conductivity alloy steel ultra-thin, resistance welded or friction pressed, Radiator fins and assemblies are used.  These are pre tested and assembled with body of the tank.

FITTINGS

High quality fittings as prescribed by International and IEC standards are selected for mounting on to the transformer.

TESTING & INSTRUMENTATION TESTING & INSTRUMENTATION

A full-fledged testing facility with an array of high precision test equipment is available to have stage-by-stage and final testing transformers.

TESTS CONDUCTED

All the tests are conducted as per standards on our floor at various stages and later on the completed transformer is tested as stipulated as per standard procedures.

OIL

High grade low viscosity high dielectric quality petroleum based oils as per international standards are chosen to fill the transformer.  The right selection of oil saves in many ways.

INSULATION INSULATION

Best grade insulation boards, presphan, varnish, fiberglass and seasoned wood are used for insulation and packing of the windings.

INSULATORS

High quality Electrical grade ceramic bushings with best brass parts are selected and used for HV side and LV side Insulators.  These are tested, before using in assembly with High Voltage.

TANK

The tank bodies are fabricated using sophisticated sheet metal machinery, handled by skilled men, welding is done by Argon-Arc/Rectifier Arc welding to give a near Radiographic quality.  High grade steel plates are selected for this.

ASSEMBLYASSEMBLY
  • Precision machined and high skilled Engineering assemblies for tap changing mechanism are used for giving trouble-free and reliable operation.

  • Good quality brass diagram and name plates are used for fixing on the transformer body.

  • Precision quality High tensile steel fasteners are used in Assembly.

  • Special washers and locknuts used to give rattle-free operation and dynamic stress with standability.

  • Good seasoned wood blocks are used in the packing and fixing the gaps.

  • Special quality rubberised cork or synthetic cork sheets are used for gaskets and packing.

  • MAIN FOCUS IS ON DISTORTION-FREE, ANTIFOULING, LONG-LIFE AND LEAK PROOF ASSEMBLY.
